Special Called Business Meeting

The church approved at the business meeting to purchase 2 new furnaces and 2 new air conditioners for the sanctuary. The cost of these will be $11, 200. the church has $5,000 to go towards this purchase. We still NEED $6, 200. A donation may be made to “Furnaces” to go towards the needed balance. There will be a special business meeting this Wed. 7:45 p.m. to approve borrowing money from the bank to finance the remaining needed monies.

Prayer Chain Reorganization

If you would like to be on the prayer chain there is a sign up sheet in the hallway. You may sign up for either the e-mail list or the phone list. If you have any questions please see Pastor Kirk.

GA Spaghetti Dinner

The Girls in Action invite you to a Spaghetti Dinner on Sept. 12th following the AM worship service. The girls will be serving Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and a drink. There is no charge but donations are appreciated. All money collected will go towards covering the expenses of the trip to Springfield, IL for GA Day.

Illinois State Missions Offering & Week of Prayer

September 12-18 is the Week of Prayer for State Missions. 100% of your offering will be used in Illinois to support nearly 100 missionaries. Goals include: Start 30 NEW Southern Baptist Churches and support many others. Start 10 NEW Illinois College Ministries while supporting 30 existing ones. Our Church's State Missions Offering Goal is $1000. Be praying about the amount God would have you give. We will be collecting the State Missions Offering all month. Mark your envelope or check for "State Missions".

All Choirs to Begin

Children grades 2-6th are invited to join the Children's Choir. The Children's Choir meets Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. Youth Choir will begin practicing at 5:00 p.m. this month and is for students from 7-12th grade. If you would like more information please see Children's and Youth Choir Director, Belinda Potts-Miles.
If you are interested in joining the Adult choir please see Bill Kinsey as soon as possible or come to practice Sunday Night at 7:00 p.m. You don't have to be a great singer, you only need to love Jesus and want to sing His praises.

GWBA Annual Meeting

The Greater Wabash Baptist Association Annual meeting will be held at Grayville First Baptist Church on Sunday, September 19th. The first session will begin at 2:30 p.m., a meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by the 2nd session’s time of music at 6:15 p.m. and will resume the business meeting at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to attend please let Pastor Kirk or the church office know, the hosts would like a close estimate of how many will be attending so they will be able to have enough food for everyone.

Relay for Life 2011

The 2011 Relay for Life event will be on July 15th at the Roy Luthe Memorial park. If you are interested in forming a team to raise money for cancer research please contact Susan Markman or Patrick Moore.

Winter/Fall Schedule Has Resumed

On August 18th Wednesday Night Live for youth in the 7th -12th grade and TeamKids for children 4 years old –Kindergarten has begun to meet every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. (except for business meeting the 2nd Wednesday of every month)WNL will meet downstairs in the youth II room and TeamKids in the first room in the nursery area. Royal Ambassadors (boys 1st -6th grade) and Girls in Action (girls 1st-6th grade) is also meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays

FBC is now on Facebook

Facebook, for those of you who don’t know, is a social networking website that can keep people up to date on what is going on in other people’s lives. Our church now has its own Facebook page. If you have some information that you feel should be on the page or would just like more information please contact Kristie Moutray or the church office.

GROW Teams

If you are not apart of a GROW team yet, this is a great time to join one of the four teams! Teams G & O meet on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and are for anyone. Team R meets the 2nd Thursday of the month and is more youth oriented, adults are welcome to come and help make contacts however. Team W meets at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon for those of you who work 2nd or 3rd Shift, as well as moms and other people whose evenings are busy but would still like to have a part in helping others know that we would love to have them come and worship with us.
